After School Activities
At Metropolitan, “Every Student Stays!”
Our goal is for every child at Metropolitan to participate in at least one after school program. When students participate in after-school activities, they build new friendships while learning important life skills, such as teamwork, integrity, creativity, compassion for others and commitment to the task no matter how hard it gets.
Our first annual after school recruitment event took place on September 20th. We hope you enjoy the video.
After school clubs and activities run Monday through Thursday from 2.15pm and 5.00pm and between 12.45pm and 2.15pm on Fridays. All freshman and sophomores are required to join an after school activity either at our school or at an organization. Metropolitan wants to know what students are involved in. Research shows that high school students who are involved in extracurricular activities do better in school. Students and their families are encouraged to contact our After School Coordinator, Lauren Chicoski, to share ideas and to find ways to get involved. She can be reached at Lauren.Chicoski@new-haven.k12.ct.us.
